Iván A. Méndez, Jr. is an Associate in the Firm's Employment and Labor Practice Group. He represents clients in a variety of workplace discrimination, retaliation and traditional labor issues. His practice spans a wide range of industries, including health care, pharmaceutical, financial services, telecommunications and manufacturing, among others.
Mr. Méndez served as an Assistant Corporation Counsel in the New York City Law Department's Labor and Employment Law Division, where as lead attorney, he represented the City of New York and its agencies and instrumentalities in a broad range of employment and civil rights matters including claims of discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation (including Title VII, Title IX and First Amendment) and defamation, whistleblower protection, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act and union grievances. In 2005, he served as a full-time judicial extern to the Honorable José L. Linares, United States District Judge, District of New Jersey.
