The firm
Ivanyan & Partners law firm has been established in February 2006 with just two fee-earners, and has since grown into a national law firm with 30 lawyers in Moscow and Saint-Petersburg practicing in all the major areas of commercial law and international business affairs. The firm provides legal, tax and public policy advice to the major corporations, the government and wealthy private individuals in the Russian Federation and abroad.
Areas of practice
We started as a litigation firm, and dispute resolution is still one of our largest practices. Extensive experience in this field allowed us to expand into many other fields, including, most importantly, corporate transactions, intellectual property and legal support of non-for-profit entities. In cooperation with our distinguished off counsel we are able to offer our clients the full range of tax advice: from tax planning and management to dispute resolution. Apart from legal services we provide guidance and informed assistance to our clients in the field of public law and policy. Below you can find a brief description of the main areas of our practice.
Corporate transactions
The firm's corporate transactions practice covers, in particular:
1. share purchase, option and shareholders' agreements and other contractual matters;
2. issue of securities by joint stock companies and limited liability companies;

4. compliance with antitrust law and other regulatory provisions;

Our lawyers have extensive experience in conducting transnational litigation and tracing assets in foreign jurisdictions, such as, Great Britain, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, Cyprus, British Virgin Islands and the Isle of Man. The dispute resolution practice in Russia mainly focuses on commercial and administrative disputes in arbitration courts and courts of general jurisdiction in Moscow and St Petersburg; we represented our clients before the Supreme Court, the Supreme Arbitration Court and the Constitutional Court to challenge the laws and regulations; and handling disputes in the Patent Dispute Chamber and in the Federal Antitrust Service. The firm's attorneys are also actively engaged in international public law litigation. In cooperation with leading foreign counsel we act for our public and private clients in various proceeding before international courts and advise on alternative dispute resolution strategies in the domain of international law.
Intellectual property
The firm's intellectual property lawyers handle various matters with a focus on IP dispute resolution and public policy issues and have a successful record of patent, trade mark and copyright litigation. They regularly deal with management of trademark portfolio, issues of advertising law, trade mark, and copyright prosecution in the interests of the firm's Russian and foreign clients. The firm also has extensive experience in handling IT projects.
Investment practice
We advise our clients on investment projects in Russia and abroad. Our lawyers have extensive experience in setting up investment vehicles and structures in various jurisdictions, and assisting in fund-raising efforts. We assist clients with any private law and regulatory issues they might face in the course of an investment project, including, in particular, such important areas as taxation, compliance, bank relationship and finance, company law, contracts and real estate regulations. Extensive expertise of our team in various spheres of legal practice is put together to ensure that the clients' intentions are diligently implemented and their interests are protected to the fullest extent.

Public policy and law
The public policy experts of Ivanyan & Partners represent and advocate the interests of corporations before the executive authorities. They are involved in development and promotion of legislative and regulatory acts before legislatures as well as the executive branch at the federal and regional level; they also provide assessment of risks that corporations may bear as a result of adoption and enforcement of certain legislation, government programs and individual decisions. They also assist in drafting terms of agreements with commercial and non-profit state organizations, as well as in building public-private alliances to promote and protect collective corporate interests.
Real Estate
Ivanyan & Partners has solid experience in advising on large-scale construction projects with the participation of the federal state, as well as on the restoration of cultural heritage projects.
