Michael is a member of Husch Blackwell's Real Estate, Development & Construction team and focuses his practice on water matters, often representing clients regarding public water supply district law. One of his primary clients is a Missouri public water supply district.
Michael's industry experience has included:
•Handled all aspects of public water supply district annexation process.
Negotiated, prepared and analyzed real estate conveyances and easements.
Defended against property damage complaints related to construction of infrastructure projects.
Advised on worker's compensation matters (including claims and insurance coverage issues).
Within the community, Michael is a member of the Missouri Rural Water Association (MRWA) and a member of the board of directors of the Watershed Committee of the Ozarks, which provides educational services, policy recommendations, testing services, and project and grant management and administration related to drinking water, water quality, storm and wastewater management, and nonpoint pollution issues in partnership with the City Utilities of Springfield, Mo., the City of Springfield, Greene County, Mo., the Department of Natural Resources, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), and others.
Michael also represents business clients and lenders in state and federal courts in matters involving business and commercial litigation, foreclosures, bankruptcy, construction and lien law, and real estate disputes. He has considerable experience with Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) sales, replevins, attachments, receiverships, and negotiating and drafting forbearance agreements.

•Represented a condominium developer in complex dispute with condominium owners association over the capacity and operation of a privately owned but publicly regulated sewage treatment facility.
•Assisted an investor with due diligence process in connection with an asset purchase and production agreement for a biofuel facility in southwest Missouri.
