J. Robert Weisberger, Jr. practices in the firm's Litigation Management Group. Bob has been practicing in the area of trial and appellate litigation since 1983. Bob's areas of litigation practice include personal injury litigation in the areas of product liability, medical malpractice, premises liability, auto accident injury, wrongful death and commercial litigation. As a member of the firm's Litigation Management Group, he presently serves on the National Litigation Management Team for a Fortune 50 company.
Recent Speaking Engagements and Publications
In 2006 Bob presented lectures to the Rhode Island Trial Lawyers Association and to the Rhode Island Bar Association at its annual meeting on The Probate Aspects of a Wrongful Death Case. In addition he has been a frequent lecturer to church and civic organizations.
Before Edwards Wildman
Prior to joining the Firm, Bob spent the bulk of his career as a partner at the Providence firm of Wistow & Barylick, Ltd. distinguishing himself as a trial lawyer handling sophisticated medical malpractice, products liability and other personal injury matters. He began his career at Gunning LaFazia and Gnys handling insurance related personal injury litigation. In addition to an active role in the Rhode Island Bar Association, Bob has served as an adjunct faculty member at Roger Williams University.
Besides Edwards Wildman
Bob serves on the Board of Trustees for the McAuley Corporation which provides food, shelter and clothing to the disadvantaged in Rhode Island. Bob enjoys performing with various musical groups in Rhode Island and Massachusetts playing his saxophone, singing and occasionally telling a joke or two. In addition, Bob is an avid sailor who recently obtained his Captain's License from the United States Coast Guard.
