Stu advises and represents public and private sector organizations nation wide in all types of labor, employment and civil rights matters, including union organizing campaigns, collective bargaining, NLRB practice and labor arbitrations. Stu also counsels employers regarding compliance with labor agreements and employment regulations, and litigates discrimination, retaliatory discharge, wage and hour, and all other employment-related claims.
Before entering private practice, Stu served as General Counsel of the Illinois Department of Human Rights, and then as General Counsel of the Illinois Labor Relations Board. He has served on the Advisory Board for Chicago-Kent College of Laws annual Public Sector Labor Law Conference since that Conference's inception. Stu also has served as an adjunct faculty member of the Institute of Human Resources and Industrial Relations at Loyola University of Chicago. He is a chapter author and editor of the treatise on the Family and Medical Leave Act published by the American Bar Association and the Bureau of National Affairs, and has authored or co-authored numerous articles on labor and employment law topics.
