    Biography

    Jack is the Chair of the firm's Construction Law section. He is a member of the American Bar Association's Forum on Construction Industry, the Litigation Section and the Construction Litigation Committee. Jack also belongs to the Alabama State Bar, the Georgia State Bar, American Bar Association, Atlanta Bar Association, Defense Research Institute, Associated General Contractors of America and Associated Builders and Contractors of America. He is admitted to practice before the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals, U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Alabama, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Jack is also a Construction Arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association.

    Jack has written and lectured on numerous construction law topics including "Protecting and Securing Payment in Tough Times" (Alabama Branch of Associated General Contractors, February 2009); "Additional Insured: So You Thought You Were Covered" (Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. - Georgia Chapter, June 2008; Alabama and Georgia Branch of Associated General Contractors, March and April 2008); "Illegal Immigration: A Practical Guide for Contractors" (Georgia Branch of Associated General Contractors, June 2007); "Tackling Contract Performance Delays" (Georgia Branch of Associated General Contractors, August 2006); "Delay Claims" (Alabama Branch of Associated General Contractors, March 2006; and Georgia Branch of Associated General Contractors, August 2006); "Public Safety Laws & Issues for Architects, Engineers & Construction Professions - Georgia Building Code Update" (HalfMoon, LLC); "Alabama Lien Rights" (Alabama Associated General Contractors, August 2005); "Resolving Problems and Disputes on Construction Projects" (National Business Institute, Alabama - February 2006, Georgia - June 2006, Mississippi - June 2006); "Mold Litigation Prevention" (Alabama Branch of the Associated General Contractors of America, September 2003); "Mold Litigation: Past, Present and Future" (Harris Martin's Mold Publication, April 2004); and "Crash Course for Contractors on Bankruptcy, Mold, OSHA and Insurance" (Alabama and Georgia Branches of the Associated General Contractors of America, June 2004).     Jack received his B.S. in Building Construction from University of Florida's M.E. Rinker School of Building Construction. He earned his J.D. from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University.
