Jack L. Stark, Jr., an attorney in the Indianapolis, Indiana office of Barnes & Thornburg LLP, serves as professional responsibility counsel to the firm. He is a member of the firm's Litigation Department. Mr. Stark concentrates his practice in the area of legal ethics and professional responsibility.
Mr. Stark has represented clients before attorney disciplinary authorities and advises attorneys with respect to ethics compliance and professional licensure matters. He regularly provides counsel and training regarding general loss prevention issues pertaining to the legal profession. He has advised in-house corporate legal departments on organizational conflicts of interest and internal legal ethics.
Mr. Stark graduated from Indiana University - Bloomington with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism in 1988 and received his J.D. from Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis in 1992. He is a member of the American Bar Association and is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for Southern District of Indiana and before Indiana state courts.
Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg LLP, Mr. Stark served the Supreme Court of Indiana for more than 10 years as a staff attorney and later as its director of Trial Court Services. In those capacities, he provided legal services to the justices of the court with regard to attorney disciplinary cases and statewide court administration.
Since 1998, Mr. Stark has served on the Board of Trustees for the Catherine Peachey Fund, a nonprofit entity which supports breast cancer research.
