Jacob Polatin's real estate practice emphasizes transactional real estate matters. He focuses primarily on real estate development, energy-related real estate issues, commercial real estate lending, conveyancing, the resolution of title problems and title insurance matters, and mortgage foreclosures and loan workouts. Jacob is a Land Court approved title examiner who has represented several title insurance companies; he often represents private clients in matters related to title insurance companies. He has testified as an expert witness on title matters, conducted registration proceedings and counseled clients on how to resolve title problems. In addition to his transactional and title work, Jacob has represented several financial institutions (including Citicorp, Grove Bank, Boston Bank of Commerce, Bay Bank, Shawmut Bank, N.A., Bank of America, and Bank Five for Savings) in real estate transactions. He advises them on making a wide variety of commercial loans secured by, among other things, retail developments, office buildings and warehouse facilities.
