Biography

Jamerson C. Allen is a Shareholder in the San Francisco, California office of Jackson Lewis P.C.

Mr. Allen joined Jackson Lewis in 1989 and represents employers in a wide variety of matters, including defending against claims for wrongful termination, wage hour violations, workplace harassment, defamation and discrimination on the basis of disability, pregnancy, sex, race, age, and national origin. Mr. Allen has also represented a number of employers in public accommodation cases brought under the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Unruh Civil Rights Act.

Mr. Allen also counsels employers regarding a wide variety of areas. He is the California Regional Coordinator of Jackson Lewis' Disability, Leave and Health Management practice group. In this role, he advises employers on complying with federal and California requirements for disability accommodation and protected leaves of absence. He has also frequently conducted disability and leave of absence training sessions for managers, supervisors and human resources professionals. In addition to his work in the Disability, Leave and Health Management area, Mr. Allen advises clients on wage-hour compliance, internal investigations of harassment and misconduct, independent contractor status, disciplining employees and utilizing consumer credit reports and investigative consumer reports.

Mr. Allen edits the Jackson Lewis' West Coast Employer bulletin and is responsible for the California legal updates posted on the Firm's website.

Mr. Allen is a current member of the State Bar of California, Employment Law Section and Jackson Lewis' Disability, Leave and Health Management and Wage Hour Practice Groups. He practices in the state and federal courts throughout Northern and Southern California.
