James (Jim) A. Gallagher brings more than 40 years of experience and success to his law practice, in the fields of aviation, product liability, professional liability, construction litigation, and property litigation. He has litigated matters for high profile clients in the retail, consumer products, hotel, restaurant property management, food service and trucking industries.
The scope of Jim's practice includes the representation of manufacturers of chemicals, home appliances, automobiles and automotive products, aircraft, hand and power tools, heavy industrial and construction equipment, office furniture, recreation products, heating and electrical products. The claims brought against Jim's clients involve a range of issues that focus on fire, burn and ground contamination litigation, wrongful death and personal injury and property damage matters.
Jim has handled many complex and multi-district matters as a civil litigator in the New York Supreme Court Counties in New York City and its suburbs, as well as in the four Federal District Courts throughout New York State. In addition to the State and Federal trial level courts in New York, Jim is admitted to and has appeared before the United States Courts of Appeal for the Second Circuit and the District of Columbia Circuit. He is also admitted to the United States Supreme Court where he has contributed a number of submissions.
Jim is honored to have served on committees for a number of national and international bar associations. In the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel, Jim was a member of the Transportation Committee and served as its chair from 1998-2000, and the Product Liability and Intellectual Property Committee, which he chaired from 2004-2007. He continues to serve on the Federation's Publications Committee.
Jim is a regular speaker before bar associations and conducts client educational programs, which cover a variety topics including general liability, professional liability and construction litigation.
