James C. Palmer

Jim Palmer has practiced commercial real estate law for 30 years and over that time he has experience in handling a wide variety of transactions. During the 1980s he represented lenders in commercial lending, handled a variety of lease negotiations and represented developers of various types of projects, including office buildings and hotels. In the early 1990s Jim gained experience with loan restructuring transactions and later did a lot of work for a large bank’s national real estate lending group based in Atlanta. The transactions for that client were secured and unsecured lines of credit and term loans to REITs and other large real estate companies. Over the past decade Jim has continued to represent lenders and developers, including a developer of large retail projects. Since the opening of the firm’s Boston office, he has had the opportunity to work on several transactions relating to Massachusetts real estate. He has also handled transactions involving large tracts of Maine timberlands and several energy related transactions including purchases and sales of hydroelectric facilities and financing and leases for wind power projects.
