James D. Moore

Jim came to the practice of Family Law after his original career in information technology led him through a legal education. His initial legal background was in the area of computer software contracts. In 2002, at the time of his company's relocation to Ohio, he decided Texas should remain his base of operations and began his career as a private attorney. His wife, Charla, had been in Family Law for many years and he had a familiarity with the system through his association with the attorneys in the Tarrant County Family Law Bar. He handles general family law practice with a concentration in child support enforcement, domestic violence, and DWI defense. Jim, is a trained mediator and negotiates successful settlement agreements in those cases where it is possible, hopefully benefiting the parties with a speedy resolution rather than lengthy litigation. His background in corporate and business negotiations has proven invaluable in the Family Law arena. Obviously some disputes cannot be settled without trial and he has experience in the courtroom, as well. Child Support Enforcement prosecution and defense is a major part of his practice, while he is also actively involved in the representation of Defendants charged with family violence violations.
