James G. Morrow is a partner and former chair of Foley's Mechanical & Electromechanical Technologies Practice. His practice includes intellectual property infringement risk assessment and valuation; intellectual property litigation valuation; risk assessment and management; intellectual property agreement negotiation and counseling (development, consulting, merger, acquisition, divestiture, etc.); intellectual capital protection counseling and planning. He continues to represent a diverse client base both of local mid-western manufacturing entities as well as national and European enterprises. Mr. Morrow has a continuing interest in legal education and training both at the practice and academic levels. He works with corporate organizations to help develop attorney skills and assists in "best practices" analysis. He continues to work with law students, and when an adjunct professor of law at the Marquette University Law School, he taught and served as a judge in moot court competitions. He graduated from University of Wisconsin - Madison (B.S., mechanical engineering, with high honors and distinction, 1983) and University of Wisconsin - Madison Law School (J.D., with honors, 1986). Mr. Morrow has been selected by his peers for inclusion in the current edition of The Best Lawyers in America® in the area of intellectual property law and was recognized by The Legal 500 US (Vol. II) as a leading lawyer in advisory and transactional trade secret matters. He has also been named to the 2007 list of Wisconsin Super Lawyers by Law & Politics Media, Inc. Mr. Morrow is admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and is a member of the bars of the States of Illinois and Wisconsin, the United States Supreme Court and several trial courts. His professional memberships include the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Licensing Executives Society and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. |
