With more than 35 years' experience in public finance and investment banking, Jim Henderson helps his clients build consensus, secure million dollar financing and maximize their investments. Working from both the Atlanta and New York City offices, Jim counsels clients in the areas of finance, private equity, mergers and acquisitions, tax-exempt compliance, securities and governance.
Jim's clients include the State of Georgia, several U.S. cities and counties, large hospital systems, colleges and universities, school districts and other nonprofit entities throughout the country. He has represented investment banking firms in connection with project financings on both a taxable and tax-exempt basis.
A longtime champion of diversity across the legal field, Jim currently serves as Sutherland's Chief Diversity Officer. He served as the firm's Managing Partner from 1996 to 2005 and has been a personal mentor to many of the firm's diverse attorneys.
Sutherland serves as Duke University Health System's counsel in $300 million bond offering.
Sutherland serves as Spelman College's counsel on bond offering, series 2012.
Seminary engages Sutherland to form Middle East-focused fund of funds.
