I graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1972 with a BA in Speech and Political Science. Following this I obtained a Juris Doctor Degree from St. Louis University School of Law. I joined a Charleston law firm in 1976 and became a partner in that firm in 1979 and remained there until January 1998.
During that time the Casey office was opened and I developed that office. I left the partnership and went into my own practice in January, 1998 taking the Casey office. At the same time I opened my Charleston office at its present location. With the help of my staff, I work from both the Charleston and Casey offices.
James M. Grant is an attorney licensed to practice in the State of Illinois, with offices in Charleston and Casey.
The James M. Grant Law Office deals with all types of civil practice, but primarily real estate, title insurance, probate and income tax.
James grew up on a farm north of Charleston and was directly involved in farming on the family farm until he became a lawyer. His youth family consisted of his parents and 5 brothers and 5 sisters.
His real estate and probate legal work, as well as family connections, keeps him involved in, and well aware of, the agricultural climate in East Central Illinois.
