James Reeves is an associate with Foley & Lardner LLP and is a member of the Transactional & Securities Practice.
Mr. Reeves' practice focuses on securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, securities law and general corporate matters. He has experience representing clients in a variety of industries, including the investment management industry, on transactional and corporate matters and has advised bank clients on the Troubled Asset Relief Program. Mr. Reeves advises clients regarding state and federal securities law compliance and assists public company and investment company clients with the preparation and review of Securities Exchange Act filings. He also represents issuers in securities transactions, including public offerings of equity securities and public placements of debt securities.
Mr. Reeves received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2008, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif. While in law school, he served as articles editor for the Wisconsin Law Review. Mr. Reeves received his undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater in 1995.
Mr. Reeves is also a certified public accountant, a certified management accountant, and a member of the Institute of Management Accountants. Prior to joining Foley, he held positions in state government, banking, and with a large Midwestern public accounting firm.
Mr. Reeves is a member of the Milwaukee Bar Association and the State Bar of Wisconsin. He is admitted to practice in Wisconsin and before the United States District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin.
