| Biography | James R. Clark has over 30 years experience in various types of civil litigation as a partner at Foley & Lardner LLP. He has tried more than 40 cases and has negotiated settlements in many other major cases. He also is experienced in arbitrations and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. Mr. Clark's areas of trial practice include professional malpractice defense, negligence and product liability matters (including drug, medical devices, and toxic torts), construction disputes, condemnation and other real estate litigation, trade secret and non-competition agreements, antitrust, general contract, and other commercial disputes. He is a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the American Board of Trial Advocates. Mr. Clark was recently selected by his peers for inclusion in the editions of The Best Lawyers in America® (2005-10), and he was selected as a leader in the "Bet-the-Company" Litigation in Milwaukee by The Best Lawyers in America® (2009). He was also selected for inclusion in the Chambers USA: America's Leading Business Lawyers (2005-09) lists, and in the Wisconsin Super Lawyers® lists for his business litigation work (2005-2008). A graduate of Ripon College, Mr. Clark received his J.D. in 1971 from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. He was elected to membership in Phi Beta Kappa and the Order of the Coif, and from 1970-1971 served as editor-in-chief of the Wisconsin Law Review. Mr. Clark is a member of Defense Research Institute, as well as the Milwaukee and American Bar Associations, the State Bar of Wisconsin, and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals Bar Association. He is a former member and chairperson of the District II Committee of what was then known as the Board of Attorneys Professional Responsibility. He is a contributing author to the "Law of Damages in Wisconsin." |
