James "Jim" Rogers joined Adams and Reese in 1992 and practices primarily in transactions and litigation arising out of the exploration, development, production, transportation and regulation of oil and gas operations worldwide. He has appeared as trial counsel in state and federal courts in various states and before numerous governmental agencies, including the Minerals Management Service and the United States Coast Guard.

Jim has litigated matters ranging from personal injury and property damage claims to collisions, allisions, limitation of liability, reservoir damage claims, pipeline damage claims, salvage, general average, oil field liens, contract disputes, and marine and energy insurance coverage issues. He also has experience defending professional liability claims against, among others, insurance professionals and marine surveyors.

His other significant contributions include:

· Drafting and negotiating contracts for all phases of exploration, development, production, transportation and regulation of oil and gas activities worldwide.

· Commercial litigation matters including fraud claims, contractual disputes, shareholder disputes, officer and director liability, fiduciary duty, unfair competition, non-competition agreements, partnership disputes, warranty claims, arbitration and construction disputes.

· Assisting in the development of risk management programs, the analysis of insurance programs, the allocation of risk in contracts, developing safety, health and environmental compliance programs and improving incident reporting, external communication and investigation procedures.

· Experience includes maritime litigation, Texaco, et al. v. AmClyde Engineered Products, Inc., et al., June 9, 2010

In his free time, he enjoys travel, skiing, reading and being with friends and family.
