Jim Dodson entered the private practice of law in 1984, primarily handling the defense of medical malpractice and auto tort claims. In 1985, he joined a large advertising personal injury law firm with multiple offices in Florida and another out of state, handling plaintiff personal injury, claimant workman’s compensation and criminal defense. Jim remained for 17 years and served as managing partner. His practice gradually became entirely limited to plaintiff personal injury litigation.

In 2001, he formed the Law Office of James W. Dodson as sole shareholder and President and has continued to practice exclusively in the area of plaintiff personal injury representing the legal rights of those who have suffered serious injuries due to the negligent act of another. Jim Dodson Law has represented plaintiffs and families who have suffered the loss of a loved one in a wrongful death - with trial verdicts and settlements resulting in six and seven figure cases. He chooses not to rely on traditional means of lawyer advertisement  such as mass advertisement on TV & radio,  yellow page ads and billboards. Instead,  the success of his practice is due to relationships he has had the pleasure of forming with his clients who happily refer their family and friends as well as with other lawyers who refer their clients because they trust Jim to provide the level of service their clients deserve.
