Biography

Jan Vernon's practice is primarily focused on defending hospitals, physicians, dentists, nurses and other healthcare providers against malpractice claims. As a registered nurse and nationally certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, she is uniquely qualified to collaborate with her clients and guide them through the stressful litigation process.

Vernon also counsels healthcare clients in the areas of medical risk management, credentialing, peer review, healthcare quality improvement issues, medical records management and HIPAA concerns. In addition, she frequently lectures and provides training seminars on a variety of medical/legal topics, such as patient communication and charting, healthcare decision-making for incapacitated patients and minors, informed consent and apologizing for medical errors
