Maria Alejandra "Jana" del-Cerro is a member of Venable's Government Contracts group, and assists clients with a broad variety of issues related to federal procurement.
Ms. del-Cerro regularly assists in prosecuting bid protests and defending contract awards before numerous federal agencies, the Government Accountability Office, and the United States Court of Federal Claims, as well as in representing clients in Contract Dispute Act cases before the Board of Contract Appeals. Her experience includes extensive involvement in Venable's representation of a small business government contractor in a business conspiracy and trade secret infringement case in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
Clients also benefit from Ms. del-Cerro's background in International Trade. She has experience counseling clients on a variety of U.S. export controls and compliance matters under the Department of State, Department of Commerce, and Department of Treasury regulations. She has also advised clients on a range of issues affecting strategic outsourcing and overseas operations, including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, Antiboycott Regulations, Office of Foreign Assets Control Sanctions, and the Buy American Act and Trade Agreements Act requirements.
