Jason practices in the firm's Business section, focusing on Creditors' Rights & Bankruptcy matters. He is a past Chairman of the Birmingham Bar Association's Bankruptcy & Commercial Law Section and currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Birmingham Bar Foundation. He also currently serves as President of the Advisory Board for Hands on Birmingham. Jason is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and received the 2001 ABI Medal of Excellence. In addition, Jason is an AV Preeminent Rated Lawyer by LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell and was recognized as a "Rising Star" by Alabama Super Lawyers in 2011 and 2012.
Jason has extensive experience in the representation of creditors in distressed debt situations, typically secured creditors in the bankruptcy, receivership, foreclosure and out-of-court workout arenas. He is also a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Turnaround Management Association.
Jason received his J.D. in 2000 and his B.A., cum laude, in 1997, both from The University of Alabama. He served as both Internet Editor and Junior Editor of The Journal of Legal Profession and was a member of the Bench & Bar Legal Honor Society and Phi Delta Phi.
Jason served as a Law Clerk to The Honorable Tamara O. Mitchell, Chief Bankruptcy Judge for the Northern District of Alabama from August 2000-August 2001.
