Jason H. Smith is an associate in Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher's Orange County office who currently practices in the firm's Litigation Department.
Mr. Smith received his law degree cum laude from the Georgetown University Law Center in 2011. While in law school, Mr. Smith was an executive editor for The Tax Lawyer, a student journal sponsored by the American Bar Association. Mr. Smith also worked as a student attorney for Georgetown's Appellate Litigation Clinic where he assisted with researching and writing briefs for pro bono clients before the U.S. Supreme Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals. In addition, Mr. Smith was a member of Georgetown's Appellate Moot Court Team and served as a board member of the Barristers' Council, an umbrella organization that oversees the school's mock trial, moot court, and alternative dispute resolution teams. As a Law Fellow and Senior Writing Fellow, Mr. Smith assisted first-year and upper-level students with improving their legal writing and analysis.
Mr. Smith graduated magna cum laude in 2007 from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Prior to law school, Mr. Smith worked in the Office of Scheduling & Advance for U.S. Secretary of Energy Samuel Bodman. Mr. Smith is also fluent in Portuguese.
Mr. Smith is admitted to practice law in the state of California.
