Jason Mueller joined Adams and Reese in 2003 as an attorney in the Special Business Practice Group. Jason practices primarily in the areas of intellectual property and technology. He provides counseling regarding patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets. Jason has counseled a wide range of clients, from multinational corporations to small businesses and start-up companies to individuals and universities.
As a patent attorney, he focuses on patent prosecution, litigation, licensing, evaluation and related counseling with particular emphasis in the mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical arts. Jason prepares and prosecutes both foreign and domestic patent applications and his experience covers a vast range of technologies including aerospace systems, automotive devices and systems, computer devices and peripherals, computer software, consumer goods, medical devices, manufacturing equipment, composite materials and power systems. His experience in patent litigation includes matters involving computer software, automotive devices and manufacturing equipment.
His significant contributions include:
· Living and working in New York City and Europe for approximately three years practicing patent law and servicing some of the largest technology-based companies in the world.
· Working at the United States Patent and Trademark Office in Washington, DC.
· Being registered as a licensed patent attorney to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He is admitted to practice in courts throughout Louisiana including the United States District Courts and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Prior to attending law school, Jason worked for four years as a mechanical engineer with International Paper Corporation and as a project manager, lead engineer and project manager for URS Corporation. His experience in engineering spans several industries including chemical, power generation, water treatment, aerospace and pulp and paper.
When Jason isn't practicing law, he enjoys traveling.
