Jason LaFond is a litigation associate in Mayer Brown's Washington, DC office. Jason's areas of experience are diverse, ranging from civil rights and toxic torts to antitrust and RICO. Jason has advised and represented clients at all stages of litigation, from pre-litigation consulting and investigations to pre-trial motions through appellate and Supreme Court advocacy. Recently, Jason successfully briefed and argued multiple dispositive motions in a high-value products liability litigation.
Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Jason served as a law clerk to Judge Allyson K. Duncan of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and Judge Thomas P. Griesa of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Jason is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, where he served on the Michigan Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif. Jason received a B.A. in economics and government, cum laude, from the University of Maryland and an M.A. in political science from American University.
Prior to practicing law, Jason served on the staff of the US House of Representatives Committee on Ways and Means.
