Jay Blount has extensive experience with corporate transactions and restructurings. He focuses his practice on the hospitality industry, covering various aspects of hotel-related matters for clients whose properties and operations are located throughout the United States as well as in international locations.
Jay also has several years of experience practicing bankruptcy and general corporate law outside of the hospitality area, with experience in acquisition and sale transactions, in brand acquisition, development and licensing matters and in receiverships and bankruptcies.
Representative Matters
· Represents hotel purchasers, sellers, investors, lenders and operators in transactions, ranging from single hotels to large portfolios;
· Negotiates hotel joint venture agreements, operating leases, and management and technical services agreements;
· Advises owners regarding franchise agreements with the major brands;
· Advises hotel owners and operators regarding financially distressed hotels, including operators appointed in receiverships.
