Jean-Pierre Bertrand is an active member of the firm's National Leadership Team, serving as both Practice Lead for the Litigation Group in the Québec region and Practice Lead for the National Client Service Innovation Team.
The Client Service Innovation Team is dedicated to creating value and novel approaches to the firm's delivery of legal matters to clients. As its Practice Lead, Mr. Bertrand directs several multidisciplinary teams, such as the Legal Project Management Team, the Litigation Support Team, the Paralegals Team, and the Knowledge Services Center. Mr. Bertrand is also instrumental in elaborating the firm's innovative pricing models, bidding and alternative fee arrangements.
As Practice Lead of the Québec region's Litigation Group, Mr. Bertrand manages one of the largest group of litigators in Québec and maintains a litigation practice, where he focuses on commercial litigation and represents numerous Canadian and American financial institutions. He also practices in administrative matters and has extensive experience representing physicians in dealings with their professional associations and government agencies.
Mr. Bertrand obtained his law degree from the Université de Montréal in 1980, was called to the Québec bar in 1983, and has been a partner at the firm since 1991.
