CONCENTRATION
Jeffrey is a trial attorney at the Davis Brown Law Firm. As a member of the firm's Employment and Labor Law Department, he maintains a general practice including, but not limited to, workers' compensation law. He is the chair of the firm's Workers' Compensation Department.
Jeffrey represents self-insured and insured employers, third-party administrators and insurance companies in the defense and litigation of workers' compensation matters throughout the state of Iowa. His clients include small businesses through Fortune 500 companies.
· Experienced in all aspects of the litigation process, including pre-litigation, discovery, hearings, trials and depositions, as well as case settlement.
· Handles claims before the Iowa Workers' Compensation Commission through the appellate courts, which include the Iowa District Courts, Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court.
· Vast experience related to occupational hearing loss claims.
· Handles complex medical issues, including neurologic, orthopedic, cardiovascular and pulmonary workers' compensation claims.
· Interprets medical evidence and assists with addressing claims related to workers' compensation matters per American Medical Association guidelines, including impairment restrictions, physical restrictions and return to work issues.
· Advises employers and insurance companies on industrial disability.
