JEFFREY (JEFF) B. McINTYRE, a patent protection attorney in the firm's Litigation practice group, conducts all phases of patent litigation from discovery through trial and appeals. He also drafts and prosecutes patents, and advises and offers opinions on validity, infringement and patentability.
Mr. McIntyre's combined experience as a litigator and patent prosecutor enables him to provide expert guidance in all aspects of patent protection. Due to his extensive courtroom experience, he has first-hand knowledge of potential risks and takes steps early in the application process to avoid later challenges.
Mr. McIntyre is especially skilled at representing the interests of clients in the chemical industry, such as glass and cosmetics companies. His expertise includes cosmetics formulations, specific compositions, research and development of new molecules, new and combined molecule uses, associated innovations, and methods to improve product properties and performance.
When counseling clients, Mr. McIntyre helps them identify the appropriate methods to protect their products, often developing and implementing design-around strategies to avoid infringement, and devising the best means to advocate their interests.
Working with both foreign and domestic companies, Mr. McIntyre's ability to synthesize their complex innovations and clearly articulate their positions affords his clients with the broadest patents and best chances for success if litigation becomes necessary.
