Jeffrey D. Johnstone is a corporate attorney with particular expertise in the areas of corporate finance, venture capital and fund formation, mergers and acquisitions, securities and corporate and commercial law. Jeffrey has acted for a wide range of early stage and mature technology and traditional economy companies. His experience includes acting for issuers, investors and underwriters in corporate finance transactions, including private placements, public offerings, private equity and venture capital financings. Jeffrey also has tremendous depth of experience in mergers and acquisitions and has frequently been retained by a Fortune 100 company engaged in strategic acquisitions and divestitures.
Prior to joining Broadhurst LLC, Jeffrey practiced at one of Toronto's "Seven Sister" firms following which he co-founded a thriving corporate finance boutique before relocating to the Cayman Islands. Jeffrey has served on various community and charitable organizations in the past, including serving as a member of the Corporate Committee to the Art Gallery of Ontario. Jeffrey holds his B.A. (Victoria College at the University of Toronto, 1994), M.A. (University of Guelph, 1996) and LL.B (University of Windsor, 1999). Jeffrey is called as a Barrister and Solicitor in Ontario, Canada and as an Attorney-at-Law in the Cayman Islands.
