Jeffrey R. Waxman is a partner in the firm's bankruptcy and creditors' rights department.
Since entering private practice, Jeff has represented debtors, official committees of unsecured creditors, official committees of equity holders, secured creditors, Chapter 7 trustees, plan administrators, purchasers of assets, and a wide variety of creditor constituencies and interested parties in Chapter 11 cases. Jeff has also represented plaintiffs and defendants in bankruptcy-related preference and fraudulent transfer litigation.
Jeff has co-authored several articles addressing significant issues in bankruptcy law, "Supreme Court's Rash Decision Fails to Scratch the Valuation Itch," 53 Bus. Law 1345 (1998), "Intellectual Property Issues in Bankruptcy," and "3rd Circuit: Secured Creditor Entities to Collateral and Proceeds." Additionally, Jeff co-authored materials for the Allegheny County Bankruptcy Symposium, addressing the 2005 Amendments to the Bankruptcy Code, served as a panelist on a continuing legal education program discussing intellectual property/bankruptcy issues, authored the materials for the American Bankruptcy Institute's 2006 Spring Meeting for its panel "Splits in the Circuit," and co-authored a chapter in the New Jersey Bankruptcy Manual addressing mass tort Chapter 11 cases and channeling injunctions.
