Biography

A senior associate in the Public Finance Department, Jennifer focuses her practice exclusively on all aspects of governmental and tax-exempt finance, as bond counsel, borrower's counsel, underwriter's counsel, bank counsel and disclosure counsel in a broad variety of tax-exempt and taxable financings. Her experience includes general obligation and revenue bonds for state governments; qualified 501(c)(3) bonds for nonprofit institutions including: colleges and universities, secondary schools, hospitals, nursing homes and other healthcare entities, and other charitable organizations; small issue industrial development bonds; exempt facility bonds; and single- and multi-family housing bonds. She also has extensive experience with both fixed rate and variable rate multimodal debt, public offerings and private placement transactions, derivative products and post-issuance compliance.

Jennifer has been listed as a Massachusetts Rising Star by Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters publication, every year since 2009.
•Serves as bond counsel, borrower's counsel and underwriter's counsel for taxable and tax-exempt borrowings through the Massachusetts Development Finance Agency for educational and healthcare institutions such as Northeastern University, Boston College, Emerson College, Caregroup, Inc. and Southcoast Health System, Inc.

•Serves as bond counsel to the State of Vermont in connection with its general obligation and transportation infrastructure bond financings.

•Serves as bond counsel to the New Hampshire Municipal Bond Bank in connection with its various general obligation and revenue bonding programs.

•Serves as bond counsel with respect to mortgage revenue bond financings for the Massachusetts Housing Finance Agency and the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority.

•Serves as bond counsel to the Vermont Economic Development Authority and the Business Finance Authority of the State of New Hampshire with respect to their revenue bond financings for 501(c)(3) institutions and small manufacturing facilities.

•Serves as bank counsel for taxable and tax-exempt borrowings in New England and New York.

•Serves as disclosure counsel to the Massachusetts Port Authority.

Before Edwards Wildman

Before law School, Jennifer worked as a business consultant for Arthur Andersen LLP and Hitachi Consulting in San Francisco, CA. Her work focused primarily on business process redesign for marketing departments at several major software companies on the West Coast. While attending Boston College Law School, Jennifer served as Articles Editor for the Boston College Law Review. In addition to receiving her J.D., summa cum laude, from Boston College, Jennifer also received a Master's degree in Higher Education Administration.

Besides Edwards Wildman

Jennifer, an Academic All-American, was a competitive gymnast for 17 years, including as a varsity team member at the University of Pennsylvania. She also has a first degree black belt in Muay Thai kickboxing and Krav Maga self-defense. Gymnastics and kickboxing are not the only sports she is passionate about, however, as she is a season ticket holder to the New England Patriots and attends all the home games with her family.

Edwards Wildman Acts as Bond Counsel on $4.8 Million IHDA Housing Deal for Elgin

Edwards Wildman has acted as bond counsel to the Illinois Housing Development Authority to successfully close its $4,865,000 bond issuance to expand affordable housing options in Elgin, IL.

Edwards Wildman Represents Northeastern University in Connection with $250 Million Bond Issue to Finance New Science and Engineering Facility

Edwards Wildman represented Northeastern University as bond counsel and borrower's counsel in connection with the issuance of $250,000,000 aggregate principal amount of tax-exempt and taxable bonds, which were issued on January 23, 2014. The proceeds of the bonds will be used by the university primarily to finance the construction, furnishing and equipping of a new, approximately 225,000 square foot, six-story Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Building (ISEB).

State of Vermont General Obligation Bonds

Edwards Wildman has served as bond counsel to the State of Vermont in connection with all debt issued by the State since July 2004.

MassHousing Single Family Housing Bonds - Series 163-166

Edwards Wildman served as bond counsel to the Massachusetts Housing Finance Agency in connection with its $150,000,000 Single Family Housing Revenue Bonds, Series 163-166, consisting of a combination of taxable and tax-exempt AMT and Non-AMT bonds.

Trustees of Boston College 501(c)(3) Revenue Bonds

Edwards Wildman has a long history of serving as bond counsel in connection with the issuance of qualified 501(c)(3) bonds by the Massachusetts Development Finance Agency (and its predecessor) for the Trustees of Boston College.

State of Vermont Transportation Infrastructure Bonds

Edwards Wildman served as bond counsel in connection with the issuance by the State of Vermont of its $11,165,000 Special Obligation Transportation Infrastructure Bonds, 2013 Series A, which were issued in August 2013.

Underwriter's Counsel for Landmark Education Merger

A team of attorneys from Edwards Wildman's Public Finance Department served as underwriter's counsel to Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC in one of the largest and most complex higher education mergers in history.

Southcoast Health System 501(c)(3) Revenue Bonds

Edwards Wildman has a long history of serving as bond counsel in connection with the issuance of qualified 501(c)(3) bonds by the Massachusetts Development Finance Agency (and its predecessor) for the benefit of Southcoast Health System, Inc., a Massachusetts non-profit corporation that oversees and coordinates a series of affiliated corporations that provide a broad range of health care and related services to southeastern Massachusetts and adjoining communities in Rhode Island.

MassHousing TEMPS Bonds

In late 2012, the Edwards Wildman public finance team served as bond counsel to the Massachusetts Housing Finance Agency for the issuance of approximately $120 million in Residential Mortgage Revenue Bonds (Mortgage-Backed Securities) 2012 Series A and Series B.

Northeastern University 501(c)(3) Revenue Bonds

Edwards Wildman has served as bond counsel and borrower's counsel to Northeastern University in connection with the issuance of qualified 501(c)(3) bonds by the Massachusetts Development Finance Agency (and its predecessor) for the benefit of Northeastern University and also in connection with the direct issuance of corporation bonds by the University.
