Jessica is an associate in the Boston office and practices in the Litigation Section. Her practice encompasses a wide range of litigation matters with an emphasis on securities-related issues and white collar criminal defense. Jessica represents corporations, officers, directors, and other individuals in all phases of government investigations, SEC enforcement proceedings, criminal prosecutions, and civil matters.
Some of Jessica's recent experience includes:
· Representing a former portfolio manager accused of violating Section 206 by engaging in market timing in an SEC enforcement proceeding.
· Representing a former corporate officer accused of violating Section 10(b) of the Exchange Act, Rule 10b-5, and Section 20(e) of the Exchange Act in an SEC enforcement proceeding.
· Successfully defending a clearing broker against fraud and breach of contract claims.
· Advising construction firms in litigation and compliance related to state and federal public works projects.
· Representing numerous indigent federal criminal defendants accused of various crimes including, but not limited to: felon in possession, possession of controlled substances, false statements/claims, mail fraud, and wire fraud.
· Advising various companies in reviewing and developing compliance policies and practices.
Jessica previously worked at the Federal Public Defenders Office, assisting in all aspects of complex criminal cases and served as a legal intern at the Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General, Special Investigation and Narcotics Division. She also completed a legal internship at the Boston College Legal Assistance Bureau, where she assisted in the representation of indigent clients in civil litigation.
Jessica is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and before the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. She is a member of the Massachusetts, Boston, and American Bar Associations, and serves on the ABA Young Lawyers Division White Collar Crime Steering Committee. She is a member of Shelter Inc.'s Outreach Council.
Jessica earned her B.A. in English and Philosophy from Boston College (1999) and her J.D., cum laude, from Boston College Law School (2002), where she was a senior editor of the Boston College Law Review.
