Jill Anderfuren

Jill Anderfuren advances and protects the interests of clients in the insurance, medical, and consumer products industries. Working together, she builds and maintains successful trademark protection strategies for clients, both in the United States and internationally. They rely on her expertise, based on over 20 years of international experience in the analysis, prosecution, clearance, licensing and litigation of trademarks. Ms. Anderfuren's extensive background along with her experience in inter partes proceedings and her involvement with INTA committee work, affords her clients sure insights and a keen understanding of their issues. Recent Client Work: Provided secondment or "embedded" attorney trademark services to several large corporations resulting in substantial savings in both client time and expense. Directed and secured recordals of merger, assignment and change of name documentation in over 75 countries for a leading international corporation. Successfully negotiated favorable settlements for several clients in inter partes proceedings. Representative Experience: Ms. Anderfuren has frequently handled legal work in these areas: Trademark search and clearance; U.S. and international trademark prosecution; Inter partes representation in proceedings before the TTAB; International trademark protection strategy development; and Trademark license drafting and negotiation. Background and Credentials: In addition to her extensive trademark work for clients, Ms. Anderfuren frequently assists and counsels clients on copyright and unfair competition issues. Before joining the firm, she was an associate at Tilton, Fallon, Lungmus & Chestnut. She earned her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law. Prior to law school, Ms. Anderfuren worked in-house as a legal assistant for a large pharmaceutical corporation, working with foreign agents to secure patent and trademark protection. She obtained her B.S. in general education from Northwestern University.
