Jo-Anna Brimmer is an associate in our Business Law Group in Toronto. She has a structured finance, financial services and securities practice with a focus on securitization and covered bonds.
Ms. Brimmer has been involved in public and private securitization transactions covering a variety of asset classes, including auto and equipment loans and leases, dealer floorplan loans, trade receivables, residential mortgages, lines of credit and credit cards. She has also been involved with the establishment of covered bond programmes for a number of Canadian financial institutions and related international offerings.
Her experience also includes acting for financial institutions on secured lending transactions and other banking and related matters and for issuers and underwriters in connection with public securities offerings and private placements, including secured and unsecured bond offerings.
Ms. Brimmer received her B.Sc. (Hons.) in mathematics and statistics from AcadiaUniversity in 1999, and her joint LL.B./MBA from Osgoode Hall Law School and the Schulich School of Business in 2006. While at Osgoode, she was the Senior Style Editor of the Osgoode Hall Law Journal.
Ms. Brimmer is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association and the Ontario Bar Association. She was called to the Ontario bar in 2007.
