John Beaumont is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at the Al-Enizy & Associates Law Firm, with whom Crowell & Moring has an ongoing business alliance. John has been based in Saudi Arabia since 2001 and advises on a variety of corporate and commercial matters, including foreign investment, Saudi government procurement contracts and a variety of cross-border transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings and joint ventures. · Acting for a defence electronics company in connection with its lease of unmanned aerial systems to the Royal Saudi Air Force.
· Acting for a leading Asian airport investment company in connection with their successful bid for the management contract for an international airport in Saudi Arabia, including drafting the management contract and participating in its negotiation.
· Acting for a multinational healthcare technologies company in connection with the licensing, incorporation and sale of a minority interest in the first wholesale trading company incorporated in Saudi Arabia with foreign capital participation pursuant to Saudi Arabia's 2005 WTO commitments.
· Acting for a multinational manufacturer of air conditioners in connection with its challenge to the improper sale of shares in its Saudi subsidiary by its local joint venture partner.
· Acting for a multinational oil gas equipment and services supplier in connection with its acquisition of shares in a Saudi oil field services companies and a Saudi oil field equipment manufacturer.
· Acting for a Saudi Arabian corporation in connection with a USD 200 million international corporate restructuring involving assets in 12 jurisdictions.
· Acting for a Saudi engineering consultancy in connection with its proposed joint venture with a Korean engineering and contracting firm.
· Acting for a Saudi-American consortium in connection with the Saudi telecommunications regime, the consortium's successful bid for a license to provide public, fixed-line telecommunications services in Saudi Arabia, and the subsequent licensing and incorporation of the project company.
· Acting for a Saudi-German consortium in relation to the acquisition of a Saudi Arabian paint and adhesives manufacturer.
· Acting for a US company in connection with an internal investigation into corrupt practices alleged at its Saudi subsidiary.
· An aerospace and defense technology company in connection with competition law issues arising from its proposed acquisition of a manufacturer of EOD robots and ground systems.
