John C. Currie

John Currie is a partner in our Real Property and Planning Group in Toronto. He maintains a commercial real estate practice covering all aspects of real estate transactions, including large- and mid-scale secured financing, securitizations, construction contracts, asset management and development agreements, joint ventures, operating contracts, leasing and licensing.

Recent transactions in which he has been involved include acting for lenders in respect of large-scale construction financings of office, entertainment and gaming facilities, multi-asset mezzanine lending and several Canadian CMBS securitizations.

Mr. Currie is listed in the 2004-2009 editions of Chambers Global: The World's Leading Lawyers as a leading lawyer in the area of real estate and is a recommended lawyer by PLC: Which Lawyer? In 2009, Mr. Currie is listed as one of The Best Lawyers in Canada in the field of Real Estate Law. He also appears in the 2006-2009 editions of the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, a guide to Canada's leading law firms and practitioners in Canada as a leading lawyer in the area of property development.

Mr. Currie received his LLB from the University of Victoria and was called to the Ontario bar in 1997.
