He has tried numerous jury and non-jury cases in state and federal courts. He has tried over 75 jury cases to verdict, including significant cases in the fields of banking, insurance, legal malpractice, medical malpractice, products liability, and construction. While he primarily handles defensive litigation, Mr. North also maintains a personal injury practice limited to significant injuries and complex liability issues. Representative Matters · He obtained the largest personal injury verdict in New Jersey in 2006, a $26.2 million verdict in a products liability "crashworthiness" case. · Has tried numerous legal malpractice and insurance broker malpractice cases to verdict in state and federal courts. · Represented managing general agent in contractual dispute with carrier, involving both injunctive relief in federal court and multi-million dollar damage claims in arbitration. · Acted as a trial counsel for a condominium owners' association in claims for design and engineering errors and construction defects, resulting in a multi-million dollar settlement during trial. · Successfully defended major real estate developer in 6-month jury trial involving claims by a condominium owners' association of alleged construction defects, financial misrepresentations and consumer fraud. · Has defended banks in numerous cases involving various types of financial fraud, including check forgeries, dishonest employee embezzlement schemes, check-kiting and money laundering.
