| Biography | Jack Beasley joined the firm as counsel in 1996 and became partner in 1998. With almost thirty years in the communications industry, he works in the Business Transactions Group and concentrates on the firm's communications practice at the national and international level. Formerly Vice President and Associate General Counsel for BellSouth Corporation in Atlanta, Georgia, Mr. Beasley holds a bachelor of arts degree from Vanderbilt University and LL.B. and J.D. degrees from Emory University. Before joining Southern Bell's legal staff in 1967, Mr. Beasley practiced law in Atlanta and was an administrative assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives. He was appointed solicitor for Southern Bell in 1976. In 1983, he was named associate general counsel with BellSouth Corp. and in 1984 he was elected vice president and associate general counsel. In March 1991, he was named vice president and general counsel of BSE with the formation of BellSouth Enterprises. He was named to his current position on April 1, 1993 when BSE and BSC merged. Mr. Beasley is a member of the American, Federal, Georgia and Atlanta Bar associations, the Bar of the United States Supreme Court, Georgia Supreme Court, Superior Court of Georgia, Georgia Court of Appeals, Tenth and Eleventh Circuits, D.C. Court of Appeals, the American Judicature Society, the Atlanta Lawyer's Club and is past president of the Corporate Counsel Association of Greater Atlanta. |
