John Callan is a partner with Foley & Lardner LLP and a member of the Estates & Trusts Practice. His practice encompasses tax and estate planning; planning for retirement distributions; saving for college; charitable planning; estate, gift and generation-skipping taxes; fiduciary and personal income taxes, marital property law; probate; and trust administration. Mr. Callan is a member of the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He also is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, the American Bar Association, and the Milwaukee Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in Wisconsin and before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin. Mr. Callan is a graduate of Marquette University, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree, summa cum laude, in 1980 and his J.D. degree, summa cum laude, in 1984. Mr. Callan has been Peer Review Rated as AV® Preeminent™, the highest performance rating in Martindale-Hubbell's peer review rating system and was selected as the "Milwaukee Best Lawyers Trusts and Estates Lawyer of the Year" for 2011.
