John F. "Jack" Sieberth is a member of the firm's intellectual property section, practicing in Baton Rouge. He is admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and is a member of the Michigan bar. Jack focuses his practice exclusively upon the representation of clients before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Jack began his career as a registered patent agent in 1954 while attending the Detroit College of Law (now affiliated with Michigan State University). After graduating from law school in 1956, Jack worked as an in-house patent attorney for a major chemical manufacturing company for over 40 years. During his time as an in-house patent agent and attorney, Jack managed and trained numerous patent agents and patent attorneys who are now respected in their own right in the chemical patent field. He was an inventor on several patents. His chemical patent experience spans numerous technical areas, including petrochemical additives, anti-oxidants, organometallic chemistry, pharmaceuticals and their intermediates, pulp and paper processing, polymer production and processing, organophosphorous chemistry, bromine chemistry, catalysts, catalytic reactions and microbiocidal agents, amongst others. Jack also has technical experience in preparing and prosecuting patents in the mechanical and electro-mechanical arts.
