John J. Mitchel, LLC

John Mitchel is a former Colorado Judge who has practiced law primarily in Western Colorado, and also in Denver state and federal courts. Experienced in all aspects of civil and criminal litigation, I have represented commercial banks, production credit associations, the Federal Land Bank, architects, engineers, construction companies, attorneys and manufacturers. I have represented clients in state and federal appellate courts. As a District Judge in the Seventh Judicial District, I have reported and unreported cases from the Colorado Court of Appeals and Colorado Supreme Court affirming trial court orders and orders from appeals to the district court on subjects including conveyancing and water rights, public and private roads, appeals from administrative agency actions, civil protection orders, criminal sentencing, and claims against government and licensed professionals.
