Mr. Robinson's primary areas of practice are complex products liability, toxic tort, pharmaceutical and personal injury litigation, as well as related unfair trade practices and consumer fraud litigation. In addition, Mr. Robinson counsels clients on product safety issues and risk management. In 2002, Mr. Robinson was selected by the Connecticut asbestos defense bar as Defense Liaison Coordinating Counsel for the Connecticut asbestos litigation, and continues in that role to this day. In this capacity, our McCarter team provides the first line of defense on behalf of well over 150 defendants involved in the litigation, and coordinates with the Court and all plaintiffs' counsel regarding docket management, discovery, medical workup, motion practice and trial preparation.
Mr. Robinson is also a member of McCarter & English's nanotechnology team, a working group, which is formed by members of a number of the firm's practice groups, and whose purpose is to track ongoing development in this area. Mr. Robinson has written and spoken on emerging issues related to nanotechnology.
In addition, Mr. Robinson currently acts as primary trial counsel and consulting counsel for the Mid-Atlantic and New England regions for a corporate parent to nearly 400 manufacturing subsidiaries for all products liability matters. He also acts as primary consulting counsel nationally for one client in the asbestos litigation, and as its trial counsel in New England. In this capacity, he coordinates discovery in all cases nationwide and addresses global litigation strategy with the client, and with local counsel. He coordinates experts, the handling of complex legal issues, and the defense of its corporate representatives. He was part of a national counsel team for two other defendants in toxic tort litigation with responsibility for managing large regions at the time. In that capacity, he handled cases in California, Hawaii, Washington, Colorado, Utah, Oregon, Arizona, Delaware, Maryland, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Maine, and appeared in court in many of those jurisdictions. As such, he has significant litigation management experience on a national level in mass toxic tort litigation, as well as related trial experience.
Mr. Robinson has tried cases substantially or to verdict in various jurisdictions, including Connecticut, Massachusetts and Maryland.
