Committed to his clients and taking their cases to trial, Mr. Pineau founded the firm after working for a decade in poverty law programs in Detroit, Michigan, and then completing law school at the University of Colorado in 1994 as a King Scholar. Mr. Pineau is currently president of the Gilpin County Bar Association; has been an instructor in trial advocacy at the University of Colorado School of Law, and the University of Denver College of Law; was appointed jointly by the Governor, Attorney General, and the Chief Justice of the Colorado Supreme Court to the Colorado Judicial Nominating Commission (2009); is a graduate of the Trail Lawyers College; recipient of the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar's 2010 Gideon Award; attends and teaches Continuing Legal Education seminars; is a fellow in the Colorado Bar Foundation; is listed in the Register of Preeminent Lawyers; was a reviewer for Dieter, R. (2005), Colorado Criminal Practice and Procedure (Vols.1-2), West Publishing; and participates in professional legal associations, including the Colorado Bar Association, the Boulder County Bar Association, the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys.
