John is a US and UK qualified lawyer with extensive cross-border and domestic private equity transactional experience. An effective deal coordinator, John has advised on high profile private equity transactions in a number of developed and emerging market jurisdictions, having spent a number of years in Europe and Central Asia. John has advised on countless buy-outs and disposals, public and private offerings of debt and equity securities, tender offers, venture capital financings, and complex cross-border transactions.
•Successfully represented the sellers in connection with the disposal of the Avangate Group to SF-based Francisco Partners.

•Successfully represented the sellers in connection with the sale of a majority interest in Eurodrip S.A. (ATHEX: EDRIP) to NY-based Paine & Partners.

•Represented Deutsche Borse on its attempted acquisition of the Bulgarian and Lublijana Stock Exchanges.

•Represented the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in connection to its equity and debt investments in an Albanian hydro-electric plant.

•Represented the sellers in the sale of the Romanian-based Rombat S.A. to South Africa's Metair Investments Ltd (JSE: MTAJ.J.).

•Represented Citi Venture Capital International on its acquisition of a majority interest and public tender of Boyner Buyuk Magazacilik A.S. (IST: BOYNR) and Beymen Magazacilik A.S.

Disposal of Avangate Group to Francisco Partners

Our cross-border team comprising lawyers from the Chicago, London, Boston, LA, New York and Providence offices, successfully represented the sellers (comprising Romanian serial tech entrepreneur Radu Georgescu, 3TS Capital Partners' CEE technology fund and the management team) in connection with the disposal of the Avangate Group to Francisco Partners.

Leveraged Acquisition of Post Telecommunication of Kosovo

A team of our Boston, Chicago, and London lawyers with experience in finance and litigation have been advising a consortium led by our investment firm client in the proposed leveraged acquisition of 75% of Post Telecommunication of Kosovo J.S.C., a company which offers fixed and mobile telephony, internet and postal services, by way of auction privitisation.
