John has built a career locally and nationally in finance and commercial real estate transactions for financial institutions, corporations and individuals. He has guided lending institutions in the origination, servicing and closing of more than $5 billion in real estate and commercial loans involving apartment complexes, shopping centers, farms, office buildings, hotels, special-use facilities and businesses of all types. John also has advised on the resolution, management and disposition of delinquent commercial loans and real estate involving properties located in more than 30 states and totaling in excess of $3 billion of assets.
John chaired the firm's Real Estate Department from 1997 to 2010. Before joining the firm in 1993, he served as assistant counsel at General American Life Insurance Co. and Counsel and First Vice President at First Nationwide Bank.
