John Slater is Of Counsel with Kastner Westman & Wilkins, which is Of Counsel to Ford & Harrison. John's practice is limited to the representation of employers in workers' compensation matters. He brings to the firm more than 25 years of experience in workers' compensation. In addition to serving employers in all facets of workers' compensation law, John has contributed to the development of Ohio's workers' compensation system. He has served as one of five employer representatives on the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation committee that established the rules for Group Rating. He was also an employer representative on Industrial Commission committees for Wage Loss Compensation, Permanent Partial Disability and Permanent Total Disability. In addition, John frequently lectures to workers' compensation groups.
John is a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army for eight years. He holds bachelor of science and juris doctorate degrees from The Ohio State University. The Canton resident is a member of the Stark County, Ohio and American Bar Associations.
