John T. Sefton is a retired partner with Foley & Lardner LLP where he counseled clients in the acquisition and operation of business enterprises and agribusiness holdings of real estate. As a member of the firm's Real Estate and Commercial Transactions & Business Counseling Practices, he represented both U.S. companies doing business abroad and foreign clients who have acquired or disposed of U.S. enterprises. Mr. Sefton advised a number of closely held family businesses and corporations, and developed extensive experience in product distribution, environmental, Florida taxation, and creditors' rights problems. He served as counsel for a number of financial institutions in Florida, and drafted documentation and compliance manuals for several Florida lenders.

Mr. Sefton received his J.D. degree from Yale University and his bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, from Vanderbilt University.
He is admitted to practice in the State of Florida, and before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
