| Biography | Mr. Broomes is a former submarine officer and petroleum engineer whose primary area of practice is oil and gas law. John co-authors the chapter on oil and gas law in the Kansas Annual Survey of the Law, and he is a frequent speaker on the subject at events sponsored by the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation, the Kansas Bar Association, and the Energy and Mineral Law Foundation. He previously served as a law clerk to United States District Judge Monti Belot and United States Magistrate Judge Donald Bostwick. John is an honors graduate from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering, and he earned his law degree from Washburn University School of Law with certification in natural resource law. |
