John Zhu is an Intellectual Property associate in Mayer Brown’s Washington DC office, focusing his practice on patent litigation in the federal district courts and the US International Trade Commission (ITC). John’s litigation experience comprises a broad range of electrical and computer technologies such as wireless, communication interfaces, Power over Ethernet, CMOS sensors, e-commerce and medical devices.
John has acquired experience in various facets of patent litigation, including coordinating discovery; developing claim construction, infringement and validity positions; assisting in preparing expert reports; and drafting motions and briefs. In addition, John has extensive experience practicing before the US Patent and Trademark Office, ranging from drafting and prosecuting patent applications to preparing post-grant requests.
Prior to joining Mayer Brown, John was a student associate at Finnegan Henderson. His work involved litigation and prosecution in the electrical arts and business methods. John also worked as a patent examiner at the USPTO.
